Rob Cudini
2024 SAE Detroit Section Chair
Rob Cudini has more than 13 years of OEM experience in the automotive industry. His career started as a body structures Design Engineer on the first Chevrolet Volt program followed by a range of engineering roles at General Motors. These roles included Studio Engineer at the Warren Design Studio and Launch Resolution Engineer on the Chevrolet Corvette team in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He is currently Assistant Program Engineering Manager of the BrightDrop Zevo 400 and 600 EV vans.
Rob’s involvement with SAE began in 2009 when he joined the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor Student Chapter and served as Chapter President the following year. He continued his SAE involvement through graduate school, helping to organize and lead chapter events, lectures, and World Congress competition participation. After graduating, he joined the SAE Detroit Section’s Young Automotive Professional Conference (YAPC) committee and helped organize the 2016 event hosted by GM. He has held numerous Board positions and enjoys attending Vehicle Events and WCX every year in Detroit. He received a BSME in Mechanical Engineering and ME in Energy Systems Engineering from the University of Michigan along with an MBA from Indiana University. Rob resides in Detroit with his wife Katherine and their cat Target.
